Nars Promiscuous Lip Pencil Set (Guy Bourdin collection)

The Nars Promiscuous set is part of the Guy Bourdin Holiday Collection, which was released a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't going to write a review for this kit because it's sold out everywhere, but since these shades are all available in the permanent range, I thought these swatches would still be helpful!

When I saw that limited edition kit on Sephora website, I couldn't resist! I'm already a huge fan of the Nars Velvet Matte pencil in Damned, so I had to get this.

It's such a good deal, you get 4 Velvet Matte lip pencils and 1 Velvet Gloss pencil in a black makeup pouch with blue lips. They aren't full size, but paying $10 for each pencil (1.8g) instead of $30 each (full size is 2.4g) is pretty good. 

Cruella is a matte dark red. Ohmagawd, look at that red! It's very pigmented and opaque, but it doesn't glide easily on the lips. It's also sticky compared to the other shades, and not as velvety. Weird. I do like it though, I just wish it was the same texture I'm used to.

Sex Machine is a matte pink mauve with micro silver shimmers, which gives a satin finish. This is the one I was the most excited to try! I was hoping that it would look like a matte nude pink, but it's slightly more dark and mauve than I would like. Still pretty, but I think it would look better if my skin had cool undertones instead of being warm toned.

Never Say Never is a matte cool toned pink. I was surprised when I wore this shade for the first time, I was sure that it would be my least favorite of the bunch. I usually don't like cool toned pinks, but this one doesn't look too harsh on me. This will be my lipstick to rock the 'Radiant Orchid' trend for 2014!

Dolce Vita is a matte peachy rose. I'm not sure why everyone describe it as a dusty rose, it's definitely peachy on me. I don't like it on my pale winter skin, it's too peachy brown, but it's a lovely shade when I wear selftanner.

New Lover is the only Velvet Gloss pencil in this kit, and it's also the only shade I already own. The texture is quite sticky, similar to a gloss but thicker. I'm not a fan of sticky lip products but the color is gorgeous! It's a glossy pink with tons of gold shimmer.

This kit it pretty cool, I'm glad I could get my hands on it! I do wish that Cruella had the same texture than the other shades, but I still love it.
