Make Up For Ever Aqua Matic Waterproof Glide-On Eye Shadow in S-60

As you may know already, Make Up For Ever recently launched a new range of Waterproof Glide-On Eye Shadows : Aqua Matic! Available in 10 shades, these pencils are highly pigmented, waterproof and smudge-proof.

S-60 (Satiny Warm Brown) is a dark warm brown with subtle shimmers and it has an excellent color payoff. The texture is creamy and it glides easily on the lids, but it's slightly less creamy than Aqua Eyes pencils and it set very fast.

As far as staying power goes, when I wear it on the upper lash line and smudge it slightly for a soft cat eye look, it stays put all day (more than 10 hours) without flaking, smudging or transfering anywhere else on my lid! However, when worn alone all over the lid (like an eyeshadow), I couldn't blend it properly so it looked a bit patchy and it creased slightly after a couple of hours.

Compared to Make Up For Ever's Aqua Shadow, which is also a waterproof cream eye shadow in pencil form, the Aqua Matic is more resistant to water but not as easy to apply and blend. The other difference would be that you don't need to sharpen the Aqua Matic because it's a retractable twist-up pencil, so you shouldn't waste as much product than if you needed to sharpen it.

MUFE Aqua Eyes in 25L is darker and matte. MUFE Aqua Shadow in 2E is darker, matte and less red toned. MAC Eye Khol in Teddy is similar but a lot more shimmery and isn't smudgeproof. Urban Decay in Whiskey is matte and slightly darker. MAC Pro Longwear in Rich Experience is darker (almost black) and matte. Annabelle Smoothie in Cocoaloco is a more shimmery and golden, less red toned, and not waterproof/smudgeproof. Can you tell I love brown eye pencils?

I really love it on the upper lash line for a soft cat eye look, but I was disappointed that it wasn't as good when worn all over the lids, so it depends on what you want to do with these pencils! If you want something that you can use both ways, then I would recommend an Aqua Shadow instead.
