Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Light Capturing Self-Setting Concealer

As you may know already, Make Up For Ever recently came out with a new liquid concealer! Available in 22 shades, the new Ultra HD Light Capturing Self-Setting Concealer offers medium buildable coverage and a natural finish. The formula diffuses light and is said to last up to 12 hours without creasing!

The Ultra HD self-setting concealer has a fluid and creamy consistency, it doesn't dry too quickly on the skin and it blends out like a charm. The formula is very easy to work with, it doesn't need a special brush or sponge.

I like to blend it with a small round brush and then pat the concealer with my fingertips to warm up the product while it dries on my skin. It looks great when I blend it with a damp Beautyblender too, but it sheers down the coverage so it's not my favorite method.

The finish is natural and slightly luminous. It doesn't look overly dewy or greasy on the skin, but it doesn't look dry or matte either. The finish is beautiful!

I would say that the coverage is medium but buildable. It doesn't completely cover the dark blue vein under my eye, even with a second layer, but the opacity is impressive for such a natural-looking concealer.

It provides more coverage than the Ultra HD Invisible Cover Concealer and the formula is thicker. It's a great concealer for spot concealing too, although I still prefer the Make Up For Ever Full Cover camouflage cream if I need to cover a super red pimple.

This concealer is supposed to be self-setting, but it stays a bit creamy on my skin if I don't set it with a powder. On me, it doesn't dry down completely and I can still blend it out with my fingers throughout the day.

I only notice minimal creasing when I apply a thin layer (without setting it with a powder), but my under eye circles are very dark so I tend to apply more concealer than the average person. Therefore, I need to set this concealer with a bit of loose powder, otherwise it creases too much (like all other concealers I've tried, to be honest).

Make Up For Ever started 2019 with a bang, this concealer is fabulous!

The consistency is perfect, it provides great coverage without being too thick. It doesn't feel drying and doesn't look cakey or heavy on the skin. I love the applicator too!

  1. I really wanted to like this formula but I don’t. I prefer the one previous to this one ( squeezable tube). I don’t know if I selected the wrong shade or my skin is just horrible in the winter but this formula is not working for me at all.
