This foundation has a luminous satin finish. On my oily skin, the finish is significantly more dewy after an hour (which I don't mind, I love that look!). I need to use a few blotting sheets throughout the day though, because my skin looks very oily after 3 hours.
The coverage is medium and slightly buildable, although it doesn't look as good (a bit cakey) and tend to settle into fine lines if I apply a second layer.
If you need more coverage than that, I would suggest to look for another foundation as this one looks best if you only apply one layer to achieve medium coverage. It can be sheered down with a damp Beautyblender as well, if you prefer sheer coverage.
Benefit Hello Happy Flawless Brightening Foundation (without powder)
This foundation doesn't break down, it begins to look cakey after 10 hours but it's not visible from a normal viewing distance.
I would say that the lasting power is surprisingly good for a luminous foundation, especially if I consider the fact that I tried it during a heat wave and my skin is very oily! I always set it with a bit of loose powder and my Skindinavia Makeup Setting Spray though.
By the way, this foundation is fragrance free!
In comparison to the Hello Happy Soft Blur foundation, this one provides more coverage and lasts much longer on my oily skin (12 hours instead of 6 hours). The Soft Blur foundation is more luminous upon application, but they both have a similar finish after an hour.
I love the light consistency of the Soft Blur foundation and it has such a beautiful natural-looking finish, but I rarely use it because it doesn't last a long time on me. For this reason, I prefer the new Hello Happy Flawless Brightening Foundation!
I tried this foundation on a 'normal' summer day too and loved it, it didn't feel sticky at all and it still looked good after 12 hours.
But I would love it more in the cooler months, as the hyaluronic acid feels a bit too sticky on a hot and humid summer day and it makes my skin look quite oily.
I usually prefer matte foundations during the warmer months! In fact, I haven't used any of my favorite luminous foundations lately because they are too heavy for me at the moment.

I wish this had a little bit more coverage but good to know it has a long lasting power! I can't wait to try it out!
ReplyDeleteI hope you like it!
DeleteHi, was just wondering what shade(s) you used for the before & after picture? We’re complete skintone twins!
ReplyDeleteHi!
DeleteI used the shade 1 because the shade 2 is a bit yellow for me at the moment (my skin is more pink-toned in the summer because of the heat), but normally I would use the shade 2!
So, Benefits has discontinued this line. I love this foundation! Is there anything else similar that you like? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Laura Mercier's Flawless Lumière Radiance-Perfecting Foundation?
