Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture The Slim Sheer Matte Lipsticks

A few weeks ago, Yves Saint Laurent has extended its Rouge Pur Couture range with the new The Slim Sheer Matte Lipsticks! Available in twelve shades, this lip product combines a sheer buildable color with a semi-matte finish.

Formula-wise, the Yves Saint Laurent The Slim Sheer Matte Lipsticks are similar to a tinted lip balm but they feel less oily and they have a semi-matte finish instead of a glossy finish.

They can tug a bit on the skin as I apply them (especially the shade 111 Corail Explicite), but they still feel creamy, hydrating, and very comfortable on the lips! The formula doesn't make my lips look like a dried prune.

The colors are sheer and buildable, they aren't fully opaque so they let your natural lip color show through. They look a bit like a lip stain, without being streaky or patchy!

By the way, these lipsticks have a strong fruity floral scent. I personally don't mind fragrance in a lipstick, as long as it doesn't have a chemical taste (which isn't the case with this lip product, luckily!).

I have to say that I'm not a huge fan of the square bullet though, it's a bit ackward to use. Also, these lipsticks are pricey for the amount of product you get.

That said, I love the formula and how it looks on my lips! Sheer lipsticks with a matte finish are hard to come by, and you will love the Rouge Pur Couture The Slim Sheer Matte Lipsticks if that's what you are looking for!
