Today, MAC is launching a new collection called The Matte Lip which contain 8 Matte lipsticks, 6 Pro Longwear lip pencils and 3 Pro Longwear blushes. I bought 2 of the lipsticks when they launched on MAC's website a week ago and I absolutely love them! Can you believe I haven't purchased any MAC products this year? Well, except 2 lipsticks that I got from the Back 2 MAC program, but it doesn't count right?

Both shades are quite creamy for a matte finish, but you have to expect a dry consistency if you aren't used to wear matte lipsticks. So they didn't glides easily on the lips like other MAC lipsticks, but they didn't feel too dry on my lips either and they certainly don't tug on the skin like MAC Retro Matte lipsticks. They are highly pigmented and opaque, the finish is matte but not completely matte like the Retro Matte.
They aren't moisturizing, and to be honest they can be a bit drying so I highly recommend the MAC Prep + Prime Lip. It makes wearing a usually dry matte lipstick very comfortable, and while these lipsticks don't feather around the lips, it can be a nice product to have in your makeup bag for those super creamy lipsticks that are too slippery.
Like I said, I love both shades! Nouvelle Vogue is darker than I expected but it's the perfect medium pink for fall. It's not too cool toned for my skintone, but it's not too warm toned either. And Fashion Revival is stunning!
MAC Matte Lipstick in Fashion Revival :
MAC Heaux is more red, less purple. MAC Instigator is much darker and more purple. MAC Studded Kiss is slightly darker and more red. Make Up For Ever N28 is lighter, a tad brighter and less opaque.
MAC Matte Lipstick in Nouvelle Vogue :
MAC Chatterbox is lighter and a much brighter pink with a creamy finish. MAC Please Me is much lighter and a tad more peachy. NYX Natural is more mauve. MAC Faux is a tad lighter and much more nude/brown.
The MAC Matte Lipsticks retail for $19 CDN for 3g.
