Clarins The Essentials Eye Make-Up Palette (Holiday 2016)

I know what you are thinking, another neutral eyeshadow palette?! Yep!! But this one is different : most of the shades are super sparkly. Admit it, you didn't expect that from Clarins!

This limited-edition palette comes with a small mirror and a dual-ended brush. The bristles are really soft!  It's not my favorite brush to apply eyeshadows, but it can come handy when you are on the go! (and it's a lot better than sponge tip applicators)

Not only does this palette is made with carefully selected materials and reusable packaging, a tree is also planted in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest for each palette purchased.

Most of the shades have a soft and creamy consistency, but some of them are a bit chunky. The matte colors are easy to work with, but the sparkly eyeshadows can be tricky to apply with a brush so I recommend to use your fingertips instead.

And I like to use a primer with those sparkly shades. Because, you know... glitters tend to fall off easily if you aren't careful with your application!

This isn't your everyday neutral eyeshadow palette but if you love sparkly eyeshadows this palette is going to give you a run for your money, especially if you like neutral eyeshadows with cool undertones! I like the fact that it contains 2 essential matte shades as well.

That being said, I'll have to admit that I won't use this palette very often because I have a love/hate relationship with glitter eyeshadows. I love how it looks, but I always get glitters everywhere!

  1. I'm a sucker for mattes, not some much for sparkles and glitter. Gorgeous photos, as always!
