Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Ink Liners

Available in 15 shades, the line comes in 4 finishes :

M = Matte
L = Lustrous
ME = Metallic
D = Diamond

Left to right : M-10, L-12, M-14, L-20, M-22, M-24, M-26, D-28, M-30, L-40, ME-42, L-90, D-60, M-62 and L-80.

Out of the 15 shades, 6 of them are completely waterproof and extremely long lasting : L-12, M-14, M-30, ME-42, L-90 and M-62. The staying power is seriously impressive!

The shades M-10, L-40 and L-80 are pretty good as well, but they flake off a little bit when I rub my skin with some lukewarm water. That means that if you pat dry your face with a towel, it won't be a problem!

So that leaves us with 6 shades that aren't waterproof : L-20, M-22, M-24, M-26, D-28 and D-60.

All the blue shades (L-20, M-22, M-24, M-26, D-28) immediately bleed when water comes in contact with them. D-60 didn't pass the test either ; the color doesn't run like the 5 blue shades, but it peels off like a band-aid when I rub it with a bit of water.

Therefore, I wouldn't recommend any of these 6 shades if you are looking for a completely waterproof eyeliner.

Some of the shades are less opaque and a bit streaky, especially the shades M-24, D-28, L-40 and ME-42. Applying more product isn't a good idea if you plan to wear them at the beach, because the formula can be fussy ; too thick of a layer and it can peel off if submerged in water for more than a few minutes.

With that being said, if you want to wear these 4 shades without necessarily dunking your head under water, you can apply two thin coats if needed and they will stay put all day without flaking off. They don't smudge or transfer onto the creases of the eyes either!

M-10 Matte Black is a black with a glossy finish.
L-12 Lustrous Grey is a gunmetal grey with a glossy and slightly shimmery finish.
M-14 Matte White is a white with a glossy finish.
L-20 Lustrous Deep Blue is a deep ink blue with a glossy and subtle shimmery finish.
M-22 Matte Petrol Blue is a teal blue with a glossy finish.
