MAC Liptensity Lip Pencils

As you may know already, MAC just came out with a new lip pencil range! Available in 18 vivid shades, the Liptensity lip pencils are said to be creamy, highly pigmented and transfer-resistant. In addition, the unique slanted tip allows for ultra precise application!

The formula is creamy and glides effortlessly on the skin. It doesn't fully set on the lips so it's not 100% transfer proof like their Pro Longwear lip liners, but the staying power is excellent and it doesn't smudge too easily. It's just creamy enough to be able to blend it, if necessary!

I would say that the Liptensity pencils are more creamy than MAC's original lip pencils, without being too soft.

All of the shades are very pigmented and have the same finish, they are completely matte.

I don't know about you, but I usually don't care for shimmery lip liners so I'm glad that these are matte!

The color payoff and consistency are remarkably consistent across the whole range!

If I'm being picky, I would say that two of the deep berry shades (La Sultana and Hellebore) are a tiny bit patchy. But it's barely noticeable and not visible at all once I apply lipstick over them. In fact, I love these two colors!

I love the angled tip as well, I can draw a very sharp line with it! The tip can get dull after a few uses though, so I suggest to hold it at a certain angle if you want to keep that sharp edge.

Overall, I'm very pleased with these new retractable lip pencils! And because the formula is creamy and doesn't fully set, the Liptensity lip pencils are awesome to create an ombre lip!

If I had to choose, my top 5 would be : La Sultana, Fresh Clay, Dionysus, Double Fudge and Honey Pecan. But I may be a bit obsessed with All Dressed Up and Hellebore too!!
