The PillowPout lip powders have a very unique formula! It feels like a cream and has a cooling menthol effect on the skin, but it dries down to a powder finish. These lipsticks have a matte finish with a subtle satin sheen.
I would say that the color is buildable, you can apply a thin layer for a soft look and a second layer if you prefer an intense color payoff. All the shades look even on my lips, but I noticed that Want You and Seduce Me can emphasize dry skin.
For more precision, pair them with a lip pencil (such as Buxom's Plumpline Lip Liners) or use a lip brush to define the outer edges. You can also add a bit of lipgloss or lip balm, if you prefer a glossy finish!
Left to right : Turn Me On, Darling Dolly, So Spicy, Kiss Me, Seduce Me, Soft Whisper, Want You, Cuddle Me, Cozy Up, Spoil Me.
What I love about the PillowPout lip powders is that the formula isn't fussy like some liquid lipsticks tend to be. It doesn't crack or flake off, even if I apply a generous amount of product or reapply during the day!
Also, they don't bleed around the mouth even if I don't use a lip pencil. They aren't completely transfer proof, but the staying power is pretty good. The nude shades wear well for about 5 hours, while the other colors last more than 7 hours on me.
The only downside for me is that I haven't noticed a plumping effect and they aren't moisturizing enough for my dry lips. I wouldn't be able to use them regularly, but I love the finish and the nude shades are to die for!
My top picks? Cuddle Me, Darling Dolly and Kiss Me!

DeleteI have never tired a powder lip powder formula either. It would be interesting but I worry about the dryness as well. As usual, I love your lip swatches and photos :)
