Dior Rouge Dior Ultra Rouge Lipsticks

Dior recently came out with a new lipstick range! The Rouge Dior Ultra Rouge lipsticks are supposed to be lightweight, ultra-comfortable, highly pigmented and last up to 12 hours. There's 26 shades to choose from, ranging from a light nude to a wine red.

The texture is very different than what I expected. I wouldn't say that these lipsticks are ultra lightweight (I can feel them on my lips) but they aren't too thick either. The formula is creamy but not very oily (if that makes senses) and it feels a bit sticky. In fact, I prefer when a lipstick isn't too oily so I like the consistency of these new Rouge Dior Ultra Rouge lipsticks! It's simply not what I expected!

Also, the description led me to believe these lipsticks would stain my lips (like a lip stain or lip ink), but out of the three shades I've tried, only one of them (770 Ultra Love) left a noticeable pink stain on my lips. I don't have a preference in that matter but if you are looking for a true lip ink, just be aware that some of the shades won't leave a stain on your lips.

The shade 770 Ultra Love is super pigmented in one swipe, while the colors 450 Ultra Lively and 555 Ultra Kiss require a few more swipes to reach full opacity. However, I noticed that the shades 450 and 555 look a bit streaky (especially if I apply a thick layer), but the color looks even if I blot the excess with a tissue (or simply pat with my fingertips).

By the way, they have a strong perfume smell. Just something to keep in mind if you can't stand heavily scented lipsticks!

As for the staying power, 555 Ultra Kiss and 770 Ultra Love wear well for more than 8 hours, while 450 Ultra Lively last 5 hours on me. The formula is comfortable on the lips and doesn't feel drying after a few hours. And it doesn't feather or bleed, even without a lip pencil!

450 Ultra Lively is a corally peach with a satin finish.

555 Ultra Kiss is a bright coral with a satin finish.

770 Ultra Love is a deep pink with a satin finish.
