The coverage is buildable; I can achieve sheer coverage with one layer, and medium coverage with two layers. However, I prefer how it looks on my skin when I only apply a thin layer, otherwise it can look a bit cakey.
Also, the finish is matte and tends to accentuate dry patches, so I highly suggest to apply it with a damp Beautyblender (this isn't a finger-friendly foundation).
The formula feels a bit moisturizing upon application, without leaving a greasy or sticky film on the skin.
But my skin is particularly dehydrated at this time of the year and I really need to hydrate it properly when I use this foundation, as it can make my skin feel a bit tight after a few hours of wear.
The staying power was surprisingly good though, it still looks great after more than 12 hours!
My skin is very oily even in that cold weather (Yes, my skin is dehydrated AND oily! The struggle is real.), and it keeps oils at bay for at least 3 hours.
I tried it with a few different primers and I find that it looks best with a luminous or hydrating primer, such as Benefit's new The POREfessional Hydrate Primer and NARS' Radiance Primer.
Unless your skin is very oily and isn't dehydrated, I wouldn't recommend using a mattifying primer with this foundation.
Unfortunately, this isn't the best foundation for me at the moment.
It accentuates dry patches a bit too much for my liking, even if I moisturize my skin really well and apply the foundation with a damp Beautyblender. I think it would be a good foundation for oily skin and I would probably love it more in the summer months, when my skin isn't a dry and flaky mess!

I have heard such mixed reviews on this foundation! My skin is like yours where it's both oily and dehydrated so I am a little scared to give this one a try.
ReplyDeleteThis one isn't for us, sadly!
DeleteBummer it's not working the best for you - the wear time is really impressive though!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah.. I will need to try it again next summer.
