Who has never heard of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders? These powders have been everywhere on the blogosphere since the past few months, everybody is talking about them! It's a collection of 6 finishing powders that diffuse and soften the way light reflects on your skin. They are free of talc, gluten, fragrance, and nanoparticles.

Dim Light is described as a neutral soft beige that provides a perfect balance of warm and cool tones to blur imperfections. On my warm toned skin, it's a sheer and luminous beige. I can't see any chunks of sparkles, but a
satiny sheen instead. It's perfect if you are looking for a luminous finishing powder that you can dust all over your face, without looking too shiny. For my skin type, I prefer to dust a matifying powder on top of my foundation, then add a light touch of Ambient Lighting Powder all over my face. I tried to use it alone over my foundation, but I didn't find that it was matifying enough for an oily skin like mine.
I like how it blurs my fines lines and imperfections! It gives a beautiful glow, my skin is radiant and luminous! This is not your typical shimmery highlighter, if that's what you want you will be disappointed because the level of sheen is quite subtle.
Can you see the difference? I dusted it over my
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation. It's quite subtle, but if you take a closer look at the red spot under my nose, you will see that it's less noticeable on the 'after' picture. And if you check the overall appearance of my skin, it looks more uniform and
the areas where there is a dark shadow reflects the light more easily.
Here's another pic, I know it's hard to see but my skin has a beautiful natural glow with this powder.
I like to use that powder when my skin is dull looking, mainly in the winter months, or when my skin is blotchy and foundation doesn't cover everything! Dim Light can be used to warm up the skin if you are fair skinned, but if that's not what you want, I would suggest that you try Diffused Light or Ethereal Light instead (depending of the effect you want) because Dim Light WILL make your skin look darker.
Overall, I think it's an awesome finishing powder that everyone should try, yes it's pricey but keep in mind that this powder will last a long time!
The Ambient Lighting Powder retail for $52 CAD for 10g and is available in 6 shades.
