In the spotlight : Yves Rocher Elixir 7.9 Skincare Line

After 12 years of research, Yves Rocher is launching a new skincare line for women that are over the age of 25 : Elixir 7.9. It claims to smooth out wrinkles and re-energize the skin in less than 4 weeks! The Elixir 7.9 Complex boosts the skin cell's energy center, thanks to the combination of 7 plants extracts : Aphloia mangiferin, tara seed extract, green rice inositol, apple oligosides, glycine betaine, sandthorn seed extract, aloe vera polysaccharides.

Elixir 7.9 Youth Intensifier Serum ($56 for 30ml)
I love this serum, it's a bit more thick and oily than the other serums I've tried, but it still sinks into the skin quickly. It has a fresh and slightly herbal scent, but if you can't use anything perfumey, you might want to check out the Youth Energy Day Care for Sensitive Skin instead. If I could only keep one product from this line, it would be this one!

Ingredients : aqua/water/eau, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, methylpropanediol, glycerin, betaine, sesamum indicum (sesame) seed oil, anthemis nobilis flower water, pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract, arachidyl alcohol, glyceryl caprylate, aphloia theiformis leaf extract, acacia senegal gum, phenoxyethanol, inositol, behenyl alcohol, caesalpinia spinosa gum, arachidyl glucoside, acrylates/vinyl isodecanoate crosspolymer, tocopherol, tetrasodium edta, parfum/fragrance, alcohol, amorphophallus konjac root powder, xanthan gum, calendula officinalis flower extract, sodium hydroxide, sodium benzoate, citric acid, potassium sorbate, aloe barbadensis leaf juice powder

Elixir 7.9 Youth Energy Day Care - Normal to combination skin ($56 for 40ml)
I love the texture, it's like a mix between a cream and a gel! It's not too oily and sinks into the skin pretty fast. However, I will stop using it once the hot summer months are back because it's still an heavier cream than a moisturizing gel. Right now it's perfect to use in the morning, right before I do my makeup.

Elixir 7.9 Youth Energy Night Care ($56 for 40ml)
This cream is quite thick and rich, which isn't exactly the kind of texture that I usually like for my skin type (oily), but I only need a tiny amount and it leaves my skin so soft and supple. I liked the moisturizing properties and the fact that it didn't break me out!

Ingredients : aqua/water/eau, glycerin, methylpropanediol, isopropyl palmitate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, betaine, stearyl alcohol, glycine soja (soybean) oil, sesamum indicum (sesame) seed oil, pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract, peg-100 stearate, cetearyl glucoside, aphloia theiformis leaf extract, dimethicone, phenoxyethanol, inositol, glyceryl stearate, parfum/fragrance, acrylates/c10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, xanthan gum, dimethicone crosspolymer, tocopheryl acetate, retinyl palmitate, caesalpinia spinosa gum, sodium hydroxide, hippophae rhamnoides kernel extract, tetrasodium edta, potassium sorbate

Elixir 7.9 Youth Energy Eye Care Roll-On ($42 for 15ml)
It's a gel like texture that sinks into the skin quickly without leaving any oily or sticky residue. I like the refreshing effect and it does help to reduce puffy eyes, but the applicator is a bit ackward to use. It didn't reduce my dark circles and wrinkles, sadly. It contain some very fine shimmers to brighten up the eyes, but it didn't really make any difference on me. I wasn't impressed with this product.

Ingredients : aqua/water/eau, methylpro panediol, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, betaine, hamamelis virginiana flower water, glycerin, pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract, aphloia theiformis leaf extract, phenoxyethanol, inositol, benzyl alcohol, mica, acrylates/c10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, sodium polyacrylate, escin, caffeine, sodium hydroxide, caesalpinia spinosa gum, hippophae rhamnoides kernel extract, methylsilanol carboxymethyl theophylline alginate, tetrasodium edta, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, citric acid, ci 77891 (titanium dioxide).

I tested this new skincare line during 4 weeks, and while it's hard to tell if my skin look younger, I was pleased with the texture and moisturizing properties. My skin is hydrated, supple and it does look a bit more smooth.

Overall I think it's a great line if you are looking for something that will helps to fight wrinkles without being too heavy! They also have a formula for dry skin, and one for sensitive skin.

(I received these products in order to evaluate them and give my opinion, but rest assured that my comments are always honest and impartial.)
