In the spotlight : Yves Rocher Sebo Vegetal Skincare Line

As some of you may already know, I'm always on the look out for good products specifically formulated for oily skin. So when I saw the new Yves Rocher Sebo Vegetal skincare line, I had to give it a try! The main ingredient, Baikal powder, is said to have powerful balancing properties. These products are paraben and mineral oil free.

By the way, this whole line is currently on sale! I highly recommend the Purifying Cleansing Gel, the Purifying Mask and the Matifying Cream Gel (although this one doesn't do everything it claims to do, so please read my review below!).

Sebo Vegetal Purifying Cleansing Gel ($15 for 125ml)
This cleanser is gentle and doesn't dry my skin out! It's a gel that doesn't lather a lot but my skin feels clean and soft. When I wipe my face with a cotton pad with the Sebo Vegetal Micellar Water afterwards, there's very little makeup left on it (barely any!).

It isn't specifically meant to treat acne, so I was afraid that my skin would break out more than usual, but it wasn't the case. It doesn't dries up pimples like salicylic acid cleansers do, but my skin still look pretty good. It might be because I'm using the Matifying Cream Gel and Purifying Mask too, which contain salicylic acid?

Ingredients: Aqua/water/eau, methylpropanediol, centaurea cyanus flower water, sodium laureth sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine, acrylates/c10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, phenoxyethanol, peg-30 glyceryl stearate, xanthan gum, parfum/fragrance, tetrasodium edta, sodium hydroxide, scutellaria baicalensis root extract, citric acid, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate.

Sebo Vegetal Purifying Micellar Water 2 in 1 ($16 for 200ml)
I have to admit, I'm not a big fan of micellar waters. I usually prefer to wash my face with a foaming cleanser and rinse it off with water. It does a pretty good job at removing my makeup but if you like to wear waterproof mascara, you will need an oil based makeup remover.

It didn't dry out my skin but it left a sticky feeling I wasn't particularly fond of. However, I like to use it after cleansing my skin with the Purifying Cleansing Gel, for some reason it's not as sticky and my skin feels great! It helps to perfects cleansing and tones skin.

Ingredients: Aqua/water/eau, methylpropanediol, centaurea cyanus flower water, butylene glycol, peg-40 glyceryl cocoate, phenoxyethanol, benzyl alcohol, sodium coceth sulfate, oleth-20, parfum/fragrance, scutellaria baicalensis root extract, caprylyl glycol, sodium benzoate, tetrasodium edta, citric acid, potassium sorbate.

Sebo Vegetal Pore Minimizing Serum ($40 for 30ml)
This serum feels great on the skin (although a bit sticky right after the application) and overall it's a good moisturizer for oily skin.

My skin appear more refined but it didn't minimize the appearance of my pores. I still like it, but I have to admit that I prefer the Matifying Cream Gel (which doesn't minimize the appearance of pores either, but I prefer its texture).

Ingredients: Aqua/water/eau, glycerin, alcohol, silica, dimethicone, hydroxyethyl acrylate/sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, zea mays (corn) starch, malic acid, centaurea cyanus flower water, zinc gluconate, aphloia theiformis leaf extract, sodium hydroxide, salicylic acid, parfum/fragrance, scutellaria baicalensis root extract, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, citric acid.

Sebo Vegetal Matifying Gel Cream ($22 for 50ml)
It's a lovely moisturizer that doesn't feel too heavy, which is always a plus for oily skin like mine! It didn't helps to control oil though, so why do I still recommend it? It contain salicylic acid so it's great for acne prone skin! I love its texture and how it moisturize my skin without being too oily or sticky. (and it smell good!)

Ingredients: Aqua/water/eau, glycerin, methylpropanediol, alcohol, zea mays (corn) starch, silica, dimethicone, hydrogenated coco-glycerides, glyceryl stearate se, sesamum indicum (sesame) seed oil, aphloia theiformis leaf extract, ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/vp copolymer, salicylic acid, parfum/fragrance, glyceryl stearate, xanthan gum, zinc gluconate, potassium hydroxide, tocopheryl acetate, scutellaria baicalensis root extract, tocopherol.

Sebo Vegetal Purifying Scrub ($18 for 75ml)
This scrub didn't do it for me. It's too gentle, not scrubby enough. It looks like a cream with some grains here and there and when you rinse it off it leaves a weird residue on the skin. My skin was soft but I really prefer more scrubby bits in my scrub.

Ingredients: Aqua/water/eau, glycerin, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, isopropyl palmitate, stearic acid, palmitic acid, glycol distearate, potassium hydroxide, sesamum indicum (sesame) seed oil, cocamidopropyl betaine, benzyl alcohol, prunus armeniaca (apricot) seed powder, polyethylene, salicylic acid, parfum/fragrance, ethylhexylglycerin, hydroxyethylcellulose, zinc gluconate, scutellaria baicalensis root extract, tocopherol, ci 77891 (titanium dioxide).

Sebo Vegetal Purity Mask ($18 for 75ml)
If you're planning to try out only one thing from this line, definitely get this! It pulls the oil out of your pores (you can see the oil spots when the mask is totally dry) and my skin feels clean and soft. Pores and blackheads appear smaller and less noticeable too!

I also like that it contain salicylic acid, it helps to dries up breakouts. You are supposed to leave it on for about 5 minutes, but I prefer to wait until it's completely dry (10-15 minutes), it works better that way and it doesn't dry my skin out.

Ingredients: Aqua/water/eau, kaolin, zea mays (corn) starch, methylpropanediol, alcohol, stearalkonium hectorite, cetyl alcohol, centaurea cyanus flower water, ceteth-20, phenoxyethanol, benzyl alcohol, hydroxyethylcellulose, salicylic acid, acrylates/c10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, cocamidopropyl betaine, parfum/fragrance, scutellaria baicalensis root extract, tocopheryl acetate, sodium hydroxide, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, citric acid, tocopherol.

(I received these products in order to evaluate them and give my opinion, but rest assured that my comments are always honest and impartial.)
