Make Up For Ever Artist Face Color Powders

A few weeks ago, Make Up For Ever came out with their Artist Face Color powders! The range contains 34 shades and is divided into 3 categories : H for Highlight, S for Sculpt and B for Blush. These super-fine powders provide intense color payoff and a long-lasting finish.

The formula is really nice, these powders almost feel like a cream when I touch them with my fingers! They blend out beautifully without too much effort, and they never look patchy.

The Artist Face Color Powders are nicely pigmented but the color payoff isn't too intense either ; the colors are buildable, which is exactly what I want in a blush! Otherwise, they would be less easy to work with.

I haven't worn all the shades yet, but so far all the colors I've tested out lasted all day!

As if the fabulous formula wasn't enough, you can also customize your own Artist Face Color palette! You can choose between a mono ($31 CAD), duo ($44 CAD) or trio ($56 CAD).

The palettes are very sturdy and the magnet is super strong! I even had a bit of trouble removing the powders from the palettes because they won't budge.

Quick tip for the shimmery highlighters : I like to apply a generous amount on the top of my cheeks with my fingertips and then blend it out with a duo fibre brush. I find that if I apply it directly with a brush, the finish is less intense.

And for your information, my skin tone is equivalent to NC30 (medium with golden undertones) in these photos. So the shades S112 and S300 have a bit of a white cast on me, but the colors are beautiful on fair to light skin tones.

♥ H102 Shimmery Pink Alabaster is a light opalescent pink with a shimmery finish.
H104 Eggshell is a light neutral beige with a matte finish.
♥ H106 Shimmery Champagne is a golden champagne beige with a shimmery finish.
H108 Banana is a light creamy yellow with a matte finish.
H312 Shimmery Gold Copper is a rich reddish copper with a metallic finish.
B204 Cold Pink is a light cool-toned pink with a matte finish.

I love the shade H106 on medium to tan complexions, and the color H102 is incredibly gorgeous on fair to medium skin tones! I highly recommend both highlighters! I like to mix these two shades too, so pretty. H312 is way too dark for me so I couldn't test it on my cheeks, but it's beautiful on the lids!

And if you want to brighten your skin with a matte powder, Make Up For Ever has got you covered! They have two matte highlighters : a light beige (H104) and a soft yellow (H108). Unfortunately though, they aren't light enough for a fair complexion. H108 leaves a yellow tint on the skin, while H104 doesn't do a big difference. These two shades will look best on medium to tan skin tones.

Please note that B204 is a blush, it shouldn't be included in this photo. lol

B208 English Pink is a muted english rose with a matte finish.
B216 Fuchsia is a bright fuchsia with a matte finish.
♥ B302 Shimmery Peach is a light peachy coral with a luminous finish.
B308 Coral is a light coral orange with a matte finish.
B402 Vermillion is a bold reddish orange with a matte finish.
♥ B500 Plum is a berry plum with a matte finish.

B216, B402 and B500 are super bright and it's easy to overdo it, but they are beautiful when applied with a light hand! I suggest to use a duo fibre or stippling brush with these, especially if your skin is light.

The shades B208, B302 and B308 are less pigmented, but the color payoff is still great! These colors are easier to wear.

♥ S112 Shadow is a light grey beige with a satin finish.
♥ S116 Medium Shadow is a medium taupe brown with a satin finish.
S118 Dark Shadow is a reddish brown with a matte finish.
S214 Rosewood is a bold pink with a matte finish.
S300 Pastel Coral is a very light peachy coral with a matte finish.
♥ S310 Praline is a brownish peach with a matte finish.

I've been loving the sculpting powders! S112 is beautiful on porcelain skin, while the shade S116 is perfect for medium to tan skin tones.

I can see a subtle warm undertone when I buff S116 on my skin, even more so when my skin is very fair. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend it to someone who has a light complexion, but the subtle warm undertone is great for darker and warmer skin tones (it won't look too grey)!

I don't use the shades S214, S300 and S310 as sculpting powders, but they are great blushes!
