First, let's talk about the packaging! If you've already read my review on the Lustrous Blush Palette, you may be wondering if I had the same issues with this one. This eyeshadow palette is a lot smaller, so it's not too bulky for my liking and I can open it easily even if I have long nails. Yay!
The eyeshadows have excellent color payoff! The color ME840 is less metallic than the other ME shades, but other than that the pigmentation is consistent across all the shades. I didn't experience any blendability issues either, but Make Up For Ever made it easy for us by including many transition shades!
The matte shades are very silky compared to the original matte Artist Shadows, except two of them (M100 and M847) which felt less soft to the touch. But one of them is a blush (M847) and the shade M100 is intensely pigmented in comparison to the original Artist Shadow M100, so I really don't mind the slightly drier texture. It's a super dark and rich black, even without a primer! I have the color M536 as well, the color payoff is much better and the texture is very silky compared to the original M536.
The metallic colors (ME512, ME728, ME840) are buttery smooth, similar to the original ME shades from the Artist Shadow range. I noticed a small difference between both formulas ; the new formula is a tad less creamy, but I find that it's less dense too so it's easier to apply with a brush. It's hard to compare them though, since there's only three ME shades in this palette!
So overall, I think the new formula is a good improvement! (although I was already in love with the Artist Shadows)
Please note that the shades M847 and M928 are powder blushes, not eyeshadows like the other colors.
These two blushes are extremely pigmented, which was a bit of a problem for me because I like to use big fluffy brushes to apply bright blushes, and the pan is too small for that. I recommend to use a small blush brush and tap off excess on a tissue before applying the blush on your cheeks. This isn't ideal for me, but I can make it work.
I really wish that the two blushes were eyeshadows, because they would look amazing on the eyes!
M100 is a black with a matte finish.
M608 is a reddish brown with a matte finish.
ME512 is a light golden beige with a metallic finish.
M847 is a pinky red with a matte finish.
M322 is a medium olive green with a matte finish.
M536 is a yellow beige with a matte finish.
ME728 is a golden copper with a metallic finish.
M500 is a light ivory with a matte finish.
M619 is a taupe brown with a matte finish.
M928 is a dark plum with a matte finish.
ME840 is a warm plum with a frosty finish.
M549 is a light taupe with a matte finish.
I'm very pleased with the formula, silky mattes and buttery smooth metallic shades? Yes, please! I was already in love with the Artist Shadows, especially the shimmery shades. But now, the matte eyeshadows are just perfect!

I prefer neutral colours most times but brights are nice for a special evening.
