If you are a long time follower, you probably know how much I love Make Up For Ever's original Artist Shadows. When they launched the range in 2014, I instantly fell in love with the buttery smooth and extremely pigmented formula. Well, the new Artist Color Shadow have the same buttery smooth consistency that I love so much!
The old mattes were less impressive, but now they are amazing! The formula wasn't bad, but I couldn't wear them without a primer because they were too powdery and sheer without it.
In comparison to the old formula (Artist Shadow), I would say that the biggest difference is how silky most of the matte shades are. I only own a few shades in both formulas, but the colors I have are much more pigmented too! (M-100 and M-536, which I reviewed here)
Formula wise, I haven't noticed a huge difference between the old ME, S, D and I shades. They feel slightly less dense but the quality can vary for each shade, so it's not easy to do a fair comparison. I can tell you that some colors are different though, I have the old ME-612 (Give In To Me Kit) and the new ME-612 is much cooler. I have the shade D-826 in both formulas too, and the color is identical. Just something to keep in mind if you are looking for swatches on blogs, the new color might be different!
I had a bit of trouble with the shade ME-612 (there's a waxy film on the surface of the eyeshadow after a few uses), but I easily solved the problem by using a brush with stiffer bristles.
