The foundation comes in a glass bottle with a pump, which is always a great thing in my book. The pump dispenses a tiny amount of product, so instead of my usual 1-2 pumps with other foundations, I use 3 pumps with this one.
The formula feels hydrating and a bit oily, but it doesn't feel sticky or heavy on the skin. And the coverage.. oh the coverage!!! A little bit goes a long way, this foundation is so pigmented! I would say that the coverage is medium, buildable to full. But it doesn't look cakey!!
The finish is hard to describe, it's semi-matte but radiant at the same time! It gives my skin a lit from within glow! If you look closely enough, you can see that the foundation is slightly pearly, but it doesn't contain any glitters (whew!).
I like to apply it with my fingers, because it's faster and for some strange reason it looks even better than when I apply it with a damp Beautyblender! The formula doesn't dry too fast either, it's very easy to apply.
NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation in Deauville
My skin is very oily, and the foundation tend to separate around my mouth if I don't set it with some loose powder. I like to use a good mattifying primer too, such as the BareMinerals Combo Control milky face primer. I still need to use 2-3 blotting sheets throughout the day, but it last much longer on me when I use these two additional products.
It doesn't last the promised 16 hours, but with a good primer and a mattifying powder, it last more than 10 hours on my extremely oily skin (which is still pretty good!).
Overall, this is a great winter foundation for me. I can't get enough of that gorgeous finish and amazing coverage!
Let's jump into the swatches! For your information, my skin is similar to NC15 at the moment.

Can I just say I LOVE your swatches and comparisons to MAC shades? I might have to give this a go, I'm also oily but this sounds like a good winter foundation for me. I was matched to Punjab in Sheer Glow, and I normally wear NC25. I wonder if Punjab will also be the shade for me in this range!

Hi Alexis!!
DeleteYay, I'm so glad you liked the comparisons! It was headache inducing. lol
I don't know if the shades are identical for both ranges, but Punjab is a bit darker than NC25 (or slightly lighter than NC30, like I wrote in my review). Fiji would be a bit too light, I think.
Thank you so much for your swatch comparisons! Super useful! I tried the mont blanc because it was the shade the matched me pretty well in their all day luminous but it ended up being too light and pink on me (which is more accurate to their description I think) Interesting to note the shade differences in their foundations. I feel like Deauville would be a more accurate match to me (NC15-20 with neutral yellow undertones) so I’ll have to try that out.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteYes I think Deauville would be better for you, or Salzburg!
Your swatches are so neat! I am so happy more brands are starting to bring out "glowing" foundations as I have really dry skin! Will be on the lookout for this one.

Thanks, Angela!! I heard it's not the best formula for dry skin, so you may want to ask for a sample!
DeleteThank you for the different shade comparisons!

ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!!
DeleteI'm not familiar with Too Faced's foundation shades, but I found a few reviews saying Light Beige is similar to NC25.
I hope this helps!

ReplyDeleteHi!
DeleteDeauville is similar to NC15 but slightly more neutral. I know MAC NC usually run quite yellow or orange. I think they have a few N shades (neutral undertones), which might be better for you but I'm not familiar with those shades.
