Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Soft Light Liquid Highlighters

A few weeks ago, Make Up For Ever launched a new liquid highlighter range! Available in 4 shades, the Ultra HD Soft Light highlighters are non-sticky and sparkle-free. Apply them anywhere you want a lit-from-within glow (cheekbones, cupid's bow) or mix them with foundation for an all over radiance!

The formula is very thin and feels lightweight on the skin. The texture is different than most other liquid highlighters I've tried, it doesn't feel greasy or sticky. So when you mix it with your foundation, it doesn't add any additional moisture (which can be a good or a bad thing, depending on your skin type!).

Some liquid highlighters have a dewy finish (which I love, too), while the Soft Light highlighters add a beautiful satin glow to the skin. The shimmer particles are so fine, there's no glitters in sight!

I prefer to apply them with a damp Beautyblender, but sometimes I apply them with my fingertips and it works just fine. I find that it looks better when applied with a Beautyblender!

I wore them a few times on my cheekbones, and the staying power is great. The finish is a bit more subtle by the 9 hours mark, but the glow is still there.

I love to mix it with a mattifying foundation (such as the bareMinerals BarePRO foundation), my skin looks radiant but not oily. This foundation usually stays matte for 4 hours on me, and it controls sebum production just as well when I mix it with the Soft Light highlighters.

However, I noticed that the foundation didn't last as long as usual on me (8 hours instead of 12), but it might just be this particular formula.

I even add it to my matte full coverage concealers! I tried it with Make Up For Ever's Full Cover and Urban Decay's All Nighter concealers, both concealers mixed nicely with the liquid highlighter and it didn't affect the staying power negatively. In fact, the Urban Decay concealer creased LESS than usual!

I find that it sheers down the coverage a little bit, but the glowy finish reflects the light beautifully so my dark circles are less noticeable.

I'm obsessed with this product, it's a game changer!
