The Rêve Salé palette contains 3 shades :
I is a light golden ivory with a pearl finish.
II is a pale pinky beige with a shimmery finish.
III is a rose gold with a shimmery, slightly metallic finish.
The formula is different for each shade, but all the colors have a lightweight consistency. The texture is similar to NARS's new Highlighting Powders, they don't feel super creamy to the touch. I find that the finish is slightly different though, I would say that the Highlighting Powders look a tad more wet on the skin and the shimmer particles are more refined.
As you can see on the photo below, the light ivory gold (shade I) has a different finish than the other colors. It adds a soft sheen to the skin, it's less shimmery and intense. I love that they included a subtle highlighter in this palette, but I can see how disappointing this shade might be if you prefer a blinding highlight. The formula is a bit powdery too and it might look ashy on deeper skin tones, but I'm currently tan (similar to NC30) and the color is beautiful on me, it doesn't look chalky at all.
The shade II is my favorite, it reminds me of NARS' Highlighting Powder in Fort de France but the undertones are much cooler.
The rose gold (shade III) can be used as a blush or highlighter, depending on your skin tone. It's too dark for me to be used as a highlighter (even when I'm tan), and I personally prefer a blush that is less shimmery. But I love to mix the shades II and III to create a light rose gold color (which looks amazing on tan skin!). It's beautiful on the lids too!
Swatches on medium skin (NC30)
In my opinion, this palette will look best on light to tan skin tones, as the two lightest shades might look ashy on deeper skin tones.
Overall, I love the colors in this palette! If you love Nars' new Highlighting Powders, I think you would love the Rêve Salé palette too!
