The formula is incredibly soft, it goes on the skin smoothly without looking patchy or streaky! The finish is matte, but it doesn't look chalky or powdery on the skin.
Both colors are nicely pigmented and aren't too dense in the pan, so I don't need a particularly dense brush with these bronzers. I love the fact the color is buildable, too!
Vallarta is quite subtle on me right now, as my skin is tanner in the summer (similar to MAC NC30), but it's such a beautiful color for fair to light skin tones! I know I will use it often in a few months, when my skin will be at its palest.
I would describe the color as a very light brown with rosy beige, slightly warm undertones.

As for the shade Laguna, it was a bit of a let down for me. The formula is top notch, but the color is different than the original Laguna bronzer. The matte version is darker and warmer. On me, it's a warm golden brown with a hint of orange undertone.
I need to apply the shade Laguna with a light hand, even when I'm tan, because it's easy to overdo it and end up with a slightly orange face. With that being said, I'm very picky when it comes to bronzers.
But I know some of you prefer a warm undertone, and I think it would be a great shade for darker skin tones than mine!
The NARS Matte Bronzing Powders retail for $50 CAD for 8g and are available at Sephora.

I love that it goes on smooth. I've been on the lookout for a matte brozner and I think Vallarta would be perfect for my skin tone :)
