Make Up For Ever Matte Velvet Skin Multi-Use Concealer

As you may know already, Make Up For Ever recently launched a new multi-use concealer! Available in 22 shades, the Matte Velvet Skin Concealer is said to blur imperfections and offer full coverage with a natural matte finish.

The formula is thick and creamy, it almost has a whipped consistency. A little goes a really long way, this concealer is very opaque and pigmented!

I would say that the coverage is medium to full, it doesn't completely cover the blue vein under my eye, but the coverage is quite impressive! The formula is easy to blend and doesn't dry too fast.

It dries down to a soft matte finish, but doesn't feel drying at all! In fact, my skin is a bit sticky to the touch if I don't set the concealer with a bit of loose powder.

That being said, it looks a bit flat on me and doesn't have much of a brightening effect (which is one of the things I want in a concealer, for my under eyes).

I'm wearing Make Up For Ever's Matte Velvet Skin Concealer in 2.1 and 2.3 (without powder) and Esqido's Unisyn Lashes in Heart & Soul

Less is more with this one, as too much product can make it look cakey. I think if you are in your twenties and don't need full coverage, this will be a great concealer for you!

I'm turning 35 this month though, and it's getting harder and harder to find a good full coverage concealer that doesn't make me look older.

That being said, I love it for spot concealing! The matte finish works well for that purpose, and it lasts all day if i set it with a small amount of their Matte Velvet Skin Blurring Powder Foundation.

But I still prefer their Full Cover Extreme Camouflage Cream for spot concealing, it's been a favorite of mine for more than a decade!

  1. There is so many concealer releases I can hardly keep up! But, I prefer a little brightening too and I can't do stickier formulas!

  2. This looks like a nice formula. I like the whipped consistancy idea. Spot concealing is all I do right now so it might be good for me
