Fake Bake 60 Minutes Self-Tan Liquid

The 60 Minutes Self-Tan Liquid is a new addition to the Fake Bake line. It is different than other self tanners on the market because you can choose the colour intensity by rinsing the product after a certain period of time: 1 hour for a light golden tan, 2 hours for a slightly darker golden tan and 3 hours for a dark tan!

I was very intrigued by that product because the tan develop in less than 3 hours, so you can rinse it after this time instead of waiting the usual 8-10 hours. The tan develops quickly, after only 3 hours my skin is already a beautiful light golden olive brown. The colour continues to intensify after rinsing, but doesn't get much darker.

It's a brown green liquid, dark enough to see where you apply it. I love the scent, but if you hate coconut, you are out of luck.. Speaking of which, it doesn't smell bad after 3 hours and it's time to rinse it anyway .. so there is almost no odor during the tanning process or after rinsing the product!

The application is quick and easy : Spray it directly onto the skin and then rub it with the mitt to apply the product evenly. I recommend that you do it in the bath or standing on a towel to avoid staining the floor. You can also spray it onto the mitt, then rub it on your skin, but it can gives you a lighter tan. Then you wait 1, 2 or 3 hours (depending of the result you want) and rinse it with warm water. Don't wash the skin with soap and don't forget to exfoliate it well before the application.

This self tanner is very nice and easy to use, doesn't streak and its texture is so lightweight that it dries completely in a couple of minutes. It gives me a natural-looking olive tan, which fades evenly in 4-5 days.

By the way, I have acne prone skin and this self tanner doesn't cause any breakouts.

Here's the colour after 3 hours :

If you forgot to rinse the product after 3 hours, don't worry! Fake Bake doesn't recommend to leave it longer than 3 hours, but I tested it and the only difference is that the tan is darker. I must say that I am too lazy sometimes to rinse it, but the darker colour doesn't bother me. In fact, I quite like it!

Another detail I like is that the mitt is already included in the box, a super soft pink mitt! However, it doesn't have a plastic liner, which is why they also added a pair of gloves to be worn under the pink mitt. I prefer when the mitt has a lining, but I think it will be more durable because of it.

The only thing I dislike about this self tanner is that it seems to cling on dry skin more than my other favorites self tanners. So the color on my hands is less uniform if I'm not careful, you really need to apply it lightly even if that means your hands are gonna be less tanned than the rest of your body.

The Fake Bake
60 Minutes Self-Tan Liquid is amazing, the lightweight and non sticky texture is so nice and I love the natural-looking tan it gives to my skin! It's so easy to use and it's also a good self-tanner to have on hand when you need a quick fix, I was amazed at how quickly I developed color!

This new product will be available beginning January 2013 in Canada, but it is also possible to order it immediately on Fakebake.com.

(I received this product in order to evaluate it and give my opinion, but rest assured that my comments are always honest and impartial.)

  3. Do you put it on your face? And does it stain clothing or lets say, if I lay on the couch? :p

    1. Yes I do, I almost used up all my bottle and never had a problem with it! (I have acne prone skin)

It can stain your clothes, sheets and couch while you still have the colour guide on your skin. That's why I prefer to apply it at night, wear clothes I don't care for, and rinse it off 1, 2 or 3 hours later. It will remove the colour guide (it's only there so you could see where you apply it easily) and leave a beautiful tan that will not stain everything you touch! It will continues to develop to a darker tan. You can easily wash your sheets though, they won't stay brown. :P

    1. Yes, it's a greenish brown! Don't worry though, it won't stay green after rinsing it.
