Hard Candy Bake, Brighten & Set Loose Finishing Powder

Hard Candy has launched a few new products recently and among them is the Bake Brighten & Set loose finishing powder! Available exclusively at Walmart, this finely milled yellow powder is inspired by the 'baking' makeup trend. This makeup artist technique helps prevent creasing and brighten the eye area.

Hard Candy's Bake Brighten & Set powder is only available in one shade : Banana. It's a light peachy yellow with a matte finish.

The formula is very silky and applies beautifully and evenly. It has a nice brightening effect too!

I wish it came in a lighter shade because this is very yellow on me when I'm at my palest, I can only wear it if I'm very tan.

Therefore, I wouldn't recommend it if your skin is lighter than NC30 (my skin tone is equivalent to NC20 on these photos).

It's a beautiful shade for medium to tan skin tone though, and the formula is surprisingly silky! Oh and you can't beat that price!

I usually swatch all products on bare skin, but for this particular product I found that the best way to show you the color and finish was to apply it over foundation.

This powder isn't meant to be applied on bare skin anyway, as it's specially formulated to set your undereye concealer!

The color is quite different now, isn't it?

Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder is a bit darker and less brightening. Anastasia Beverly Hills Banana (Contour Kit), TheBalm 500Hz (Highlite 'N Con Tour palette) and Kat Von D Lyric (Shade + Light Contour Palette) are lighter and less yellow, the finish is a bit more luminous. MAC Shaping Powder in Soft Focus is much more yellow and has a pearly finish.

Hard Candy, if you are reading this... please make a lighter shade for pale skin tones! Ok thanks.
