St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse

I use this tinted self tanner since a couple of months now and I'm absolutely hooked!

St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse - Review

First, I love the texture! This is an important point for me because I hate sticky or greasy lotions, so even if a self tanner gives me a nice color, I won't use it if I don't like the texture!

You must shake the bottle very well otherwise it comes out more liquid. It's just easier to apply when it's foamy and fluffy! The mousse dries very fast so you have to rub it quickly. It dries in less than a minute and my skin is sticky for about 30 minutes, which is much better than many other self tanners I have tried.

As you can see, the foam is very dark! Be careful because it can transfer onto sheets and clothings. I like the tint because I can see exactly where I apply it. Since the instant color is very dark and slightly green, you might prefer to use it at night and take a shower in the morning. Anyway, after about 5-6 hours it will smell weird and you'll want to rinse it off before going out .. It doesn't smell that strong, but it still smell too much for me to go out with it.

I recommend that you use latex gloves to apply it, because even if you wash your hands several times after the application, you'll wake up with brown palms! Another good reason to wear gloves is that you will also have a slightly darker tan because they won't absorb the product, unlike your hands. You can also use the St. Tropez Applicator Mitt! (Sorry, the review is in french)

It gives me a nice golden brown tan! It's not orange at all but I can't apply several layers to get a deep tan as the color become slightly orange (like most self-tanners). Keep in mind that my skin is pale to begin with, a shade between NC15 and NC20 without self tanner. If you check out my FOTD's here and here, you'll see that my fake tan is pretty natural. Since I don't want to look like Snooki (LOL), I use it two days in a row and then I maintain the color by applying it twice a week on my body and more frequently on my face. By the way, I have acne prone skin and this self tanner doesn't cause any breakouts.

The St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse is available at Sephora and it retail for $38 CAD for 4 fl. oz and $48 CAD for 8 fl.oz.

I used to use it primarily but now I have switched to BE Faux Tan and I think I'm staying with it! :-)
