I own the 2 darkest shades : 40 and 50. The highlighter is the same color for both shades, a sheer beige with a matte finish. If your skin is darker than mine, then I would suggest to try it in store because it might look ashy on deeper skintones.

The formula is a bit dry but it glides on smoothly. I would say that it's definitely less creamy than Clinique's Superfine Liners or MAC's Eye Brows Pencils, which is a good thing for me because my skin is very oily so a super soft consistency is not necessarily good.

In comparison to the Hourglass Brow Sculpting Pencil (which features a triangle tip too), the formula is a bit waxier and creamier, less powdery. Both products have great pigmentation and the color is buildable. I have a slight preference for the formula of the Hourglass brow pencil but the Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Brow's tip is smaller so it's easier to make thinner lines.

As you can see, the darkest shade (#50) isn't very dark even if I build up the color. I think a darker soft black shade would be a good addition to the range, as some brunettes have very sparse eyebrows and like to play with 2 shades to add some dimension to the brows!

I usually prefer a very sharp and defined brow but for this review I didn't use any concealer to shape my brows, only the Pro Sculpting Brow Pen! I used the highlighter as well, which illuminate the browbone and help define the shape.

There's definitely a learning curve with this product, you can create thick or thin lines depending on how you hold it. But you will love it if you want to achieve a soft and full brow and don't want to buy more than one item to fill in your brows.

#40 Dark Brown is a ashy taupe.

Clinique Superfine Liner in #03 Deep Brown is darker and warmer. Urban Decay Brow Beater in Warm Brown is lighter and warmer. MAC Eye Brows in Spiked is darker and warmer. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown is a bit lighter and cooler.

#50 Brown Black is a ashy dark taupe.

Hourglass Brow Sculpting Pencil in Dark Brunette is slightly warmer. Marcelle Forever Sharp Eyebrow Liner in Medium Brown is warmer. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Ebony is slightly darker. Billion Dollar Brows Universal Brow Pencil is a bit lighter.
