Glossier Balm Dotcom Universal Skin Salves

Unless you've been living under a rock, you probably already heard about Glossier. Created by beauty blogger Emily Weiss (Into The Gloss), this brand is taking the beauty world by storm! Today I'm reviewing one of their best sellers, the Balm Dotcom Universal Skin Salve!

There's 5 scents to choose from, so you're sure to find something you like!

And if your skin is sensitive to perfume, the original Balm Dotcom is for you. This one is colorless and odorless.

Birthday smells like cake batter. It has silver and pink micro glitters in a clear base, but it doesn't feel gritty on the lips.

Mint has a vanilla mint scent and is colorless. I love the cooling effect of menthol!

Rose smells like fresh roses. It's a very sheer pink that goes on completely clear.

Coconut doesn't add any color to the lips and has a creamy coconut scent. This is a well done coconut scent, it doesn't smell like Play-Doh.

Cherry is a sheer pinky red and smells like cherry gummies.

The formula feels quite thick on the skin upon application, but the product melts a little as it warms up on the skin. It's not sticky on the lips!

It doesn't sink into the skin quickly, which is a good quality for a lip balm. It lasts a really long time on me! I apply it at night before bed and there's a small amount of product left on my lips when I wake up in the morning.

I like to use these balms on my lips, cuticles, heels and elbows!

The first ingredient is petrolatum and while I personally don't mind petrolatum in beauty products, it's not the most hydrating ingredient for the skin. Therefore I didn't expect a very moisturizing formula, but I was wrong!

The Balm Dotcom skin salve softens and hydrates my lips incredibly well, thanks to the lanolin and cocoa butter it contains. Lanolin is THE best ingredient for dry and chapped lips (in my opinion)!

My favorite is Coconut, not only because I love anything and everything having to do with coconut, but also because the formula is a bit thinner. I like Mint and the original Balm Dotcom as well!

Oh and Birthday has a very yummy scent, but it contains tiny glitters so I can only use it on my lips. (I'm not a huge fan of sparkly elbows, know what I mean? lol)

  1. Everyone is going crazy over Glossier! I haven't ordered anything from the brand, but there is a mask that is apparently great for acne-prone skin!
