Shiseido Paperlight Cream Eye Colors

Inspired by traditional Japanese paper (washi), Shiseido's new Paperlight Cream Eye Colors are specifically formulated to provide vibrant color with a translucent matte finish! Available in 8 shades, the formula is supposed to last 8 hours and be water resistant.

The formula is smooth and creamy, very easy to blend. It doesn't completely set on the skin, so you have plenty of time to play with them.

Just as promised, the colors are vibrant but very sheer! I know that most of you prefer ultra pigmented eyeshadows, so these Paperlight eye colors may not please everyone. But I like the idea behind these eyeshadows, these sheer and vivid shades are beautiful with a luminous complexion, glossy lips and feathery lashes!

The product creases a bit by the 3 hours mark, even if I use an eyeshadow primer, but it's very minimal and not visible from a normal viewing distance. I did notice some fading though, the colors are less vibrant after a few hours.

My favorite shades are Shobu Purple and Sango Coral! I didn't care for Nobara Pink because it made me look tired, but I didn't have any issues with the formula. The shade Asagi Blue is difficult to work with though, it's too patchy for my liking!

Overall, these eyeshadows were fun to test out and it was a nice change from my usual makeup style! I wish the lasting power was better though, especially for that price.

  1. Many thanks for this review. I love these eye creams too. They have the perfect light matt coverage and are even great for older eye types. I currently wear the coral and purple but want to try a few other colours soon too. I apply them either with my fingers or a small dedicated brush for each colour. You can also wear these along with dry shadows if you want to. This is really a fantastic eye colour cream product.
