The shades Bang Bang, Turn On and Ambitious have great color payoff, but I prefer to apply them with my fingers (it makes the colors look more rich and vibrant).
I was disappointed when I tried Young Love for the first time, the color doesn't show up on my eyelids if I apply it with a brush. I think the formula is too creamy or dense to be applied with a brush, because the color is very pigmented when I apply it with my fingers!
Last but not least, the shade Drunk Dial is pure perfection! This color is highly pigmented, even without a primer.
As for the seven matte shades, the texture is slightly different for each color. Hot Spot, Caution, Feelz and Juicy are silky smooth, while the other shades (Bing, Devilish and Privacy) feel a bit drier to the touch.
The shades Feelz and Juicy have great color payoff, while Hot Spot, Caution and Privacy are slightly less pigmented (but nothing to complain about). The other colors (Bing and Devilish) need to be applied over an eyeshadow primer, otherwise they aren't very pigmented. It doesn't bother me though because I always use a primer anyway! By the way, I currently use Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Fix.
Overall, I really liked this palette! I would recommend to always use an eyeshadow primer with this one though, as some of the shades are less pigmented without it. But the colors are beautiful and super easy to blend!
Oh and by the way, I heard rumors that this palette is similar to the Naked Heat palette but I don't find this to be true. The Naked Heat palette is mainly composed of rusty browns, reds and coppers, while Naked Cherry is filled with pink and purple toned shades.
The shades Caution and Ambitious (Naked Cherry palette) are similar to Chaser and Dirty Talk (Naked Heat palette), but all the other colors are very different.
If I had to choose I think I would keep the Naked Cherry palette, because the colors look better on me when my skin is at its palest. I only wear Naked Heat when I have a tan. Both palettes are pretty though, and for now I will keep both in my makeup collection!

ReplyDeleteRight? I love it!!
DeleteWow! A lot of the shades swatch really nicely! When I first heard that this palette was releasing, I was excited. However, the shades just don't scream cherry to me, so this feels like a missed opportunity. Regardless, I'm sure it's a nice palette!
ReplyDeleteWhat would be the perfect cherry-hued eyeshadow palette for you? More pinks, reds, something else? Just curious.. :)
