Vichy Minéralblend 16hr Hold Fresh Complexion Hydrating Foundation (All shades)

Earlier this month, Vichy launched a new hydrating foundation! Formulated with hyaluronic acid, Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Water and mineral pigments, the Minéralblend 16hr Hold Fresh Complexion Hydrating Foundation moisturizes the skin and offers natural coverage.

Formula-wise, Vichy's new Minéralblend hydrating foundation is one of a kind. It looks quite thick, but it melts on my skin when I apply it! It feels very hydrating and a bit sticky, but doesn't feel heavy on the skin.

This foundation has a natural and slightly dewy finish, and the coverage is sheer to medium. On my oily skin, the finish is more dewy after 1½ hour and my skin looks quite oily by the 2½ hours mark (or 3 hours if I use a mattifying primer).

To me, this is very similar to a tinted moisturizer! It doesn't look like a mask, it's perfect for those of you who prefer a natural-looking foundation.

I would say that this product would work best for normal to dry skin types.

My skin is very oily but dehydrated, so I love how it feels on my skin at this time of the year. But I know it will be too hydrating for me in the summer months.

I like to apply it over a mattifying primer (such as Make Up For Ever's Step 1 Skin Equalizer Mattifying Primer) and set it with a bit of loose powder (I currently love Givenchy's Prisme Libre Loose Powder).

This foundation is very easy to apply, I can blend it with my fingers and it looks great! The formula doesn't cling on my dry patches. The only thing I noticed is that the foundation is sheerer if I apply it with my hands, and more opaque if I blend it with a Beautyblender.

By the way it has a subtle scent, but nothing too overpowering.

Vichy Mineralblend Fresh Complexion Hydrating Foundation Ingredients

I love how moisturizing it feels on my skin, but I usually prefer medium to full coverage so this isn't a product I will use frequently.

However, this foundation is exactly how it's supposed to be (according to the description)! It deeply hydrates the skin, has a natural finish, it unifies the complexion and has great lasting power (10 hours on me, with primer and powder). If that's what you are looking for in a foundation and don't need full coverage, you will love this one!

  2. Yes , yes , yes I want this foundation ! I don’t wear full coverage often and prefer a more subtle foundation so this is perfect for me. As well I love Vichy so I have no doubt they are amazing. If your recommending them then I need to try them out !

  3. I love when a skincare company comes out with makeup (I don't always love the reverse), but I've enjoy Vichy's foundations before, might wait until Fall to give it a try!

    1. Yes this is a great fall/winter foundation! Unless your skin is super dry, I wouldn't use it in the summer months.

  4. I used Vichy Teint Ideal fluid 35, which one is the most similar?

    1. I have the Teint Ideal fluid foundation #35 and the undertone is pink, unfortunately they only have two shades with a pink undertone in this new range and one is way too light (03 Gypsum) and the other would be too dark (11 Granite). You can always mix both shades to create your perfect color, but I know it's not ideal.

I would say that the most similar shade is 06 Ocher but the undertone is yellow instead of pink and the color might be too light for you.

  6. This foundation looks so nice! I love that it has hyaluronic acid in it too! I wonder if the lightest shade will be light enough for me

    1. It's a bit dark for me, but the foundation isn't super opaque so I can make it work. Do you know your MAC foundation shade?

  7. iam used Vichy Teint Ideal 25
I don't know what would suit my complexion. The tones are close enough to me if I use Bourjois 56 Beige Bronze؟

    1. Hi,

Unfortunately they don't have a shade similar to Bourjois' 56 Light Bronze, 06 Ochre will be too light and 11 Granite will be too dark. You can always mix both but I'm not sure if it will be a good match for you. :(

  8. Hello! I’m NC 25 (light-medium, leaning warm—and I really need the warmth). Would I be Ochre or Agate? Findation recommends Gypsum, but that looks much too pink. Thank you!

    1. Hi! Gypsum will probably look ashy on you and too light! Agate is quite cool toned too, so I would go with Ochre. But Ocher might be too dark for you, maybe a better choice for this summer?
