For Summer 2019, Buxom came out with two new eyeshadow palettes; Boss Babe Betty and Boss Babe Dolly! Available at Ulta and Nordstrom, these palettes feature 12 shades in shimmery and matte finishes. Today, I'm reviewing the Boss Babe Betty eyeshadow palette!
(Vous parlez français? Cliquez ici!)
The shimmery shades are buttery smooth and extremely pigmented, even without a primer! Sometimes I like to apply eyeshadows with my fingers (it makes the colors look more vibrant), but I don't feel the need to do that with this palette. Color me impressed!
The mattes are less pigmented than the shimmery colors, but the color payoff is intense with an eyeshadow primer. They don't look patchy on the skin and they are easy to blend!
The only shade that didn't impress me is Crazy Rich. The formula is SO chunky and really difficult to work with, I ended up with glitters all over my face. The color payoff isn't that great either. I don't understand how this one passed muster because the rest of the palette is fabulous!
Overall, I love the formula and the colors! I wish the shade Crazy Rich wasn't so chunky though. I rarely love all the colors in an eyeshadow palette so it's not a dealbreaker for me, but still.. Why, Buxom, why?
If you love warmer eyeshadow palettes and don't mind one dud shade, then I think you should check this one out!
Cashmere Craving is a light ivory with a matte finish.
All Access is a white gold with a shimmery finish.
Gold Status is a golden champagne with a shimmery finish.
Invite Only is a light pinky brown with a matte finish.
Crazy Rich is a warm gold with a glittery finish.
Faster is a golden orange with a luminous finish.
For Real is a golden copper with a metallic finish.
Upgrade is a pinky bronze with a sparkly shimmery finish.
Werk is a reddish plum brown with a matte finish.
Boom is a pinky copper with a sparkly metallic finish.
Bronzed Bod is a deep bronze brown with a shimmery finish.
Unapologetic is a blackened brown with a matte finish.
The Buxom Boss Babe Betty Eyeshadow Palette retails for $48 CAD for 13.2g (1.1g x 12) and is available at Ulta and Nordstrom.

DeleteI loved buxoms custom palettes, I loved how the shadows had built in primers and had such payoff. I'm glad to hear these shades are the same but too bad about that one shade being chunky.
ReplyDeleteThe other colors are so nice though, so the one dud shade doesn't really bother me!
DeleteI love all the shades in this one! I've actually never tried a buxom palette now that I think about it!
ReplyDeleteThe formula is fab!
