Earlier this year, Givenchy came out with a new skin tint! Enriched with shea extract, hyaluronic acid and licorice extract, Givenchy's Teint Couture City Balm hydrates the skin during 24 hours while reducing the harmful effects of pollution and blue light on the skin.
This skin tint provides light to medium coverage; just enough coverage
to even out my complexion, without looking cakey!
I find that less is more with this product, so I prefer to apply a thin layer and add a bit of concealer where I need more coverage.
The
finish is on the dewy side, so my skin can get quite shiny after an hour
or two even if I add a bit of loose powder (my current favorite powder
is Givenchy's Prisme Libre, by the way!).
To be fair though, this
product isn't supposed to have mattifying properties.
The formula is quite thin, but is surprisingly hydrating (and feels
a bit sticky on the skin).
I tried this product numerous times since I got it a few weeks ago, and I have to say that this isn't
the best formula for my oily skin during the summer.
That being said, I noticed that it wears significantly longer on my skin now that the weather is getting cooler.
It lasts about 12
hours on me, if I set it with a light dusting of loose powder and my
favorite makeup setting spray.
All in all, I like quite a few things about this skin tint; it blends out beautifully with my fingers, doesn't emphasizes dry patches, and it protects skin against pollution and blue light exposure.
But it's not my favorite foundation, simply because I prefer medium to full coverage!

This seemed like a perfect product for me if it's a good clear skin day but I'm with you, I prefer a medium to full coverage.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious, what's your favorite foundation?
DeleteI love a light skin tint for the Winter - hopefully this will be better for that time! I have combo skin, so I don't love the idea of it being a little tacky for me!
ReplyDeleteI think it will be too hydrating for you, sadly.
