The formula is very smooth, it has a creamy consistency (similar to Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks) and I love that it doesn't dry too fast. The staying power is excellent (more than 8 hours) and I haven't noticed any feathering even without a lip pencil. Just a word of caution though, you want to apply a thin layer because it can flake off if you apply too much product.
Quite The Standout, Rich & Restless, and Personal Statement are highly pigmented and opaque. Oh Lady is a bit translucent though, so it can look patchy.
The applicator is awesome, in fact this is the best liquid lipstick applicator I've tried. (Good job, MAC!)
Compared to the original MAC Retro Matte lipsticks (which comes in the traditional bullet format), the finish is a bit more matte and it feels a tad more drying on the lips, but they last much longer and stay on while eating. They have the same vanilla smell than other MAC lipsticks.
I really love them, the colors are gorgeous and the color payoff is phenomenal! Oh Lady was my least favorite though, because it looks a bit patchy on the lips (as you can see on the photo).
