La Petite Robe Noire : Eau de Parfum, Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum Couture
On me, La Petite Robe Noire opens with sour cherry and green notes, and has a warm patchouli dry down. At first I found it too strong and intense, but it really grew on me! Each version has a slightly different scent though : The Eau de Parfum ($96 for 50ml) is a fruity floral, the Eau de Parfum Couture ($96 for 50ml) is a woody floral and the Eau de Toilette ($82 for 50ml) is a fresh floral. La Petite Robe Noire Hair Mist ($47 for 30ml) is based on the Eau de Toilette.
How gorgeous are these limited edition bottles? The Kuntzel & Deygas design is absolutely stunning.
I think if you love Givenchy Hot Couture, you will love La Petite Robe Noire! They start with a berry top note (Hot Couture = Raspberry, La Petite Robe Noire = Cherry) and I can clearly smell a smokey dry down. However, they aren't identical and Hot Couture is a lot more sweet. In my opinion, both aren't very suitable for hot weather but they are perfect for autumn and winter!
Ok so you tried it on your skin and loved it, but you are still not sure which one is for you?
If you usually prefer fruity and sweet scents, go with the Eau de Parfum. If you love woody undertones and a strong sillage, the Eau de Parfum Couture is for you. But if you are afraid that it will be too sweet for you, try the Eau de Toilette which is more floral and fresh.
