Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows Palette Vol. 4

In addition to two new Pro Light Fusion luminizers, Make Up For Ever launched their fourth Artist Shadow Palette earlier this year! This limited-edition palette includes 9 eyeshadows with a matte finish.

These eyeshadows blend really nicely and the color payoff is great, but make sure to use a primer otherwise the formula is powdery and the colors are too sheer. It doesn't bother me though because I always use an eyeshadow primer! I haven't noticed any fallouts, which is a good thing when you work with deep shades like M-100 and M-240.

I don't use the Artist Shadow Palette Vol. 4 by itself, but I like to use it to complement other shimmery eyeshadows. I think this palette is a staple! The color selection is different than other matte eyeshadow palettes on the market, which tend to focus mainly on neutral shades.

By the way, I know some of you were complaining that the value went down in comparison to the previous Artist Shadow palettes, but it's not really the case! A full size matte Artist Shadow retail for $24 CAD for 2g while a shimmery Artist Shadow retail for $24 CAD for 2.5g. The matte shades weight less than the other finishes (Satin, Metal, Diamond and Iridescent), but the pan aren't smaller.

In summary, the value of this palette is $140 CAD while the Artist Shadow Palette Volume 1 and 2 had a value of $155 CAD! Not a huge difference, eh?

My only complaint with this palette is that the white and off-white shades (M-126 and M-530) ended up looking kind of the same on me. I wish I could switch out one of these two eyeshadows for a deep brown or a burnt orange!
