The formula is very unique, it's a totally different sensory experience! The texture is quite thin, and it feels like my skin is drenched in water. It smooths my lips instantly and has a beautiful dewy finish, but it doesn't feel sticky or thick!
The color payoff is good for a lip balm, the shades are translucent but nicely pigmented. The colors I have can look a bit streaky if I apply too much product, though!
Unlike Yves Saint Laurent's Vinyl Cream Lip Stains, this new tinted lip balm doesn't leave a noticeable stain on my lips
Oh and the Volupté Liquid Colour Balms have a lovely tropical scent and a slightly sweet taste! To me, it smells like watermelon, papaya and mango!
Left to right : No. 1 Night Rehab, No. 8 Excite Me Pink, No. 11 Hook Me Berry
The shade No. 1 Night Rehab is a very sheer milky pink, but it's almost completely colorless on the lips. This one is meant to be used as a lip balm or a lip sleeping mask!
For the past 5 nights, I used it instead of my favorite lip balm and my lips feel super smooth now! But if your lips are very dry like mine, I recommend to apply a generous amount of product, otherwise it won't last all night.
The lips-shaped applicator is super cute too! I was afraid that it would be difficult to use, but it doesn't affect the application process.
My only complaint is the staying power, it's a slippery formula and it doesn't last through a meal. But it's a tinted lip balm, so you shouldn't expect the same staying power than a lipstick.
No. 8 Excite Me Pink is a sheer hot pink with a slightly shimmery dewy finish.
No. 11 Hook Me Berry is a sheer rosy brown with a dewy finish.
The Yves Saint Laurent Volupté Liquid Colour Balms retail for $39 CAD for 6ml and are available at yslbeauty.ca, Nordstrom and Feelunique.

Thank you for this review! It was really helpful. Do you find that they're similar to the Tint-in-Oils or Tint-in-Balms?
