NARS Ignited Eyeshadow Palette

A few weeks ago, NARS launched their new Ignited eyeshadow palette! Available for a limited time only, this palette contains twelve shades and the formula can be applied with a wet or dry brush for a sheer or rich color payoff.

The matte shades (Hammamet I, Sophia, Nouméa) are perfect, they are silky smooth and very pigmented! They blend out beautifully and are easy to work with, they never look patchy! I noticed that they look darker on the skin, especially over an eyeshadow primer, but it's not really important.

I love the shimmery and luminous colors (St-Paul-De-Vence I, Supernova, Fired Up) too, they feel buttery smooth to the touch and the color payoff is excellent!

By the way, three of the shades are available as single eyeshadows (Nouméa, Sophia, Pointe Noir) and two other colors are part of two eyeshadow duos (Hammamet I and St-Paul-De-Vence I). All the other colors are brand new!

The other half of the palette is all about glitters. The formula isn't that great, it's a bit chunky and powdery. I recommend to apply them with a wet brush because you will end up with glitters all over your face if you apply them with a dry brush.

The color payoff is so much better when I apply them wet too, only using an eyeshadow primer doesn't do the trick with this formula, even if I apply them with my fingers.

But the main issue I had with the glittery shades is that I experienced quite a bit of fallouts throughout the day, even if I applied them with a wet brush and over an eyeshadow primer.

NARS Ignited Eyeshadow Palette Review

All in all, I love the matte and the shimmery colors but I wear glitter eyeshadows rarely so 6 shades with a glittery finish is too much for me. I prefer when there are only two or three in a palette, like it was the case with the NARSissist Wanted eyeshadow palette.

The glitter fallouts are a dealbreaker too, I rarely wear glitters on my eyes but when I do I like when the glitters stay put all day. I have to say that they are incredibly gorgeous when applied wet though, and the colors are very unique.
