The coverage is medium but buildable to full. However, I dislike how it looks on my skin when I apply a second layer (it looks a bit cakey). I prefer to only apply one layer and add a bit of concealer where I need more coverage.
The finish is matte upon application and my skin starts to look slightly shiny by the 2 hours mark. I don't mind a bit of luminosity so I usually only use a blotting sheet after 4½ hours, which is pretty impressive considering the fact that my skin is extremely oily!
This formula doesn't dry out my skin, but I prefer how this foundation looks on me when I apply it over a luminous or hydrating primer. I had great results with Make Up For Ever's Step 1 Hydrating Primer and Nude by Nature's Perfecting Primer.
Also, I like to apply it with a Beautyblender because matte foundations tend to accentuate dry patches a bit too much when I apply them with my fingers. This one didn't cling to dry skin as much, but it really looks better with a sponge.
When I set it with a bit of loose powder (I currently use Givenchy's Prisme Libre) and a light mist of my Skindinavia Bridal Makeup Finishing Spray, this foundation lasts more than 12 hours without breaking down!
It doesn't last 24 hours, but 12 hours is more than enough for me and my skin is super oily so it would probably last even longer on combination or normal skin types. I noticed that it stays put really well on the sides of my nose too, other foundations tend to wear off much faster.
This isn't the most natural-looking foundation I've tried (matte foundations usually look less natural), but the lasting power is great and it mattifies my skin pretty well!

Oooh sounds like I might like it - I like a medium matte foundation! Maybe I will get a sample as it sounds a little finicky!
ReplyDeleteOh it's quite easy to apply, in comparison to other matte foundations!
