I'm usually not a fan of foundation sticks, I'm not sure if it's just me or my strange skin type (very oily, but dehydrated with dry skin patches) but they tend to look slightly chalky on me.
This one is different though, it melts on the skin like a gel-cream and feels very moisturizing! It doesn't look powdery or chalky on the skin, and doesn't cling on dry patches.
I would say that the coverage is medium but buildable. It can be sheered down with a damp Beautyblender too, if you prefer light coverage foundations.
BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Hydrating Foundation Stick in 1.5 Birch and 02 Vanilla (without powder)
The formula feels cool on the skin upon application, and the finish is natural, slightly dewy. The finish is more dewy after about 1½ hour, and my skin is oily after 3 hours even if I set the foundation with loose powder or use a mattifying primer.
However, it feels sticky and heavy on my skin and that's not something I like in a foundation. For this reason, I think I would prefer the Complexion Rescue foundation stick in the cooler months because my skin is already very oily and I don't need that extra moisture right now.
By the way, this foundation provides an SPF of 25. It has a sunscreen smell but it doesn't linger on the skin. I love the fact that it doesn't contain fragrance!
As for the staying power, it has a tendency to look cakey after 6-7 hours if I use it on a hot and humid summer day. But on a 'normal' day, this foundation stick lasts 11 hours on me without separating if I set it with a bit of loose powder (I currrently use Givenchy's Prisme Libre Loose Powder) and my Skindinavia Makeup Setting Spray.
Overall, the Complexion Rescue Foundation Stick has a beautiful finish and it's VERY moisturizing, but I think the formula would be more suitable for normal to dry skin types!

This has a really beautiful finish! It wouldn't quite work for my skin either, but sounds like a nice foundation for drier skins!
ReplyDeleteYes I think it would be amazing for dry skin types!
DeleteI have yet to fall in love with a stick foundation but I love that this one is more suited for dry skin! I should check it out!
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you try it, this one is different!
DeleteOh I like that it feels cool on the skin. It's too bad it's a little heavy, I think your right about it being better for cooler months
ReplyDeleteYes! I think I would love it more in the cooler months!
DeleteWhat are the NW and NC comparisons, please?
ReplyDeleteThey are MAC foundation shades! Many makeup addicts know their MAC foundation shade so I always include them in my foundation reviews! :)
DeleteHi. Is there any plastic in the packaging? Or are they all metal or aluminum?
