The Overexposed Glow Highlighter in Double Take ($52 CAD for 6.5g, click here to buy it) is without a doubt the most coveted item from the Man Ray collection.
And rightly so!
I mean... how gorgeous is that highlighter?
The formula is very smooth, but lightweight on the skin (it doesn't have that heavy silicone feel).
The golden champagne color is gorgeous as well!
In my opinion, it looks best on medium to deep skin tones. I tried it when my skin was very fair (NC10) and it was too dark and peachy for my liking.
But I'm currently wearing self tanner and I think that this shade is very pretty on me!
I'm a huge fan of NARS' Velvet Eyeliners, I always use the color Black Moon when I want a perfectly blended smoked out lower lash line.
So I was super excited to try more shades, especially a vibrant violet like this one!
Sadly, the Velvet Eyeliner in Nagoya ($31 CAD for 1.1g, click here to buy it) is streaky and patchy.
That's all I'm gonna say.
Oh how I love NARS' Eyeshadow Duos, they always surprise me with the best color combinations! Don't believe me? Check out this one, and this one!
The Eyeshadow Duo in Montparnasse ($43 CAD for 4g, click here to buy it) features a soft gold with a shimmery finish and a plummy brown with a slightly luminous finish.
The gold is buttery smooth, while the dark shade is a bit dense in the pan. But I don't care because that color is stunning! I would suggest to apply it over a primer though, the color faded a bit throughout the day when I wore it on bare skin.
By the way, I even wore the soft gold as a highlighter on my cheeks and it was soooo pretty!
I usually love NARS' lip glosses, the formula is smooth and non-sticky. But I wasn't a fan of the new Photogloss Lip Lacquer in Muse ($33 CAD for 5.5ml, click here to buy it).
The consistency is quite thick and a bit tacky, the tiny glitters in this particular shade can feel a tad gritty too.
The color isn't my cup of tea either, although I think it looks pretty over a pink or nude lipstick.
I like the vanilla scent, but it's still a pass for me!
Last but not least is the Powder Blush in Fetishized ($38 CAD for 4.8g, click here to buy it), a vibrant coral pink with a shimmery finish.
This is a bright blush, definitely not for the faint of heart!
If you look closely enough, you can see a subtle blue sheen as well.
I'm not really in the mood for coral blushes at this time of the year, but I have no complaints about the formula.
The color payoff is crazy good, it lasts all day and blends beautifully without looking streaky!
NARS Blushes - Comparisons
By the way, is it me or NARS' blushes are much more pigmented than they used to be? I don't know about the original shades, but the last limited edition blushes I've tested were extremely pigmented.
I love both formulas though, even if they are different!
