NARS Steven Klein Eyeshadow Mortal Review

NARS Steven Klein Eyeshadow Mortal Swatch MAC Gesso Crystal Avalanche MUFE ME-122

Single Eyeshadow in Mortal ($31 CAD for 2.2g)

Mortal is a beautiful sheer white with a shimmery, slightly sparkly finish (no glitters though). I love that it's not a very opaque white, it's more flattering on medium to tan skin tones than an opaque white. I like to wear it all over the lid with a light brown into the crease and a few coats of mascara. It looks great with dark vampy lips as well!

I'm not gonna lie though, I rarely wear white eye shadows (I prefer beige or golden shades) so this isn't a must have for me, but I do prefer this one over all the other white eye shadows I own!

I'm not sure if you can see it on this photo, but Mortal's finish is more sparkly compared to the other eye shadows. Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow in ME-122 and MAC Crystal Avalanche have silver undertones as well, which is why I prefer NARS Mortal for my golden skin tone. MAC Gesso is matte and very opaque.

NARS Steven Klein Killer Shine Provoke Lipgloss Review

NARS Steven Klein Killer Shine Provoke Lipgloss Review

NARS Steven Klein Killer Shine Provoke Lipgloss Swatch

Killer Shine Lip Gloss in Provoke ($35 CAD for 6ml)

Believe it or not, I was very excited to try this lip gloss even if I dislike sticky lip products. Why, you may ask? I've been loving the Christopher Kane x NARS Lip Glosses I tried earlier this year, they have such a beautiful juicy finish and the formula isn't too sticky. This one is a bit different, it comes with a brush instead of a doe foot applicator and the texture is a bit more sticky, but still much better than most lip glosses out there.

Provoke is a gorgeous purple with a super glossy finish. It has a slightly shimmery finish in the tube, but it's not very noticeable on my lips. It's a highly pigmented color although it's not completely opaque, and to be honest I was sure that it would be a streaky mess on my lips but I was wrong ; the brush applies it evenly and it doesn't settle into the fines lines!

The staying power is what you would expect from a dark lip gloss, I noticed a bit of fading and feathering by the 2 hours mark but it still looked great after 3 hours. If you have a few wrinkles around your lips, I suggest to apply a lip pencil. I personally prefer to use a clear lip pencil when I'm wearing a lip color that isn't 100% opaque, such as No Bleeding Lips. I think 3 hours is pretty good for a lip gloss though!

I don't own any purple lip glosses, but here's a few comparisons with some purple lipsticks : Dose of Colors Liquid Lipstick in Berry Me is lighter and the finish is matte. MAC Matte Lipstick in Fashion Revival is lighter and brighter. MAC Matte Lipstick in Instigator is darker and a tad more violet.

NARS Steven Klein Killer Shine No Shame Lipstick Review

NARS Steven Klein Killer Shine No Shame Lipstick Swatch

Killer Shine Lipstick in No Shame ($36 CAD for 3.4g)

No Shame is a raspberry red with a glossy finish. It looks lighter on my lips than it does in the tube, but the color payoff is crazy good!

This new formula is incredibly smooth and creamy, it glides on the lips like butter! I can't believe I'll say that but I love this formula even more than the NARS Audacious lipsticks! I'm not sure how to describe the texture, it glides on the lips like a gel but it's creamy at the same time. Does that make sense?

The staying power is great, the finish is still glossy after 4 hours and it's comfortable on the lips. I did notice some feathering around my lips by the 3 hours mark though, so I suggest to wear it with a lip liner (try MAC Beet!).

Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in After Dark is more violet and the finish is semi-matte. Mirabella Colour Vinyl Lipstick in Icy Violet is a tad more violet and the formula is less creamy. MAC Matte Lipstick in Fashion Revival is more violet but less bright, the finish is semi-matte.
